Blüthner-Welte is next to Steinway-Welte probably the most valuable combination, but rarer to find, because at that time significantly more Steinway-Welte were built. We currently know of only this one Blüthner-Welte piano in addition to a handful of Blüthner-Welte grand pianos worldwide. In fact, it is the first Blüthner-Welte piano with the number BL 1. It is exceptionally well preserved. The Welte-Mignon mechanism has been partially restored before. The design of the Welte mechanism is unusual, as the windchest was installed here at the bottom to leave the body with a slimmer (more normal) appearance at the top. An absolute rarity and sonically a dream.
