How is the Licensee Scale of Welte structured?

After the outbreak of the First World War, it became increasingly difficult to run Welte's business in the USA. In 1917, after the USA entered WWI, Welte's business in the USA was confiscated and sold to the Auto Pneumatic Action Company New York. This developed into a separate Welte Licensee System, structurally as a drawer system and based on the 88 standard scale similar to the Ampico - technically very similar to the Welte System. The Welte T100 (red) recordings could be recoded - as later for the Welte T98 (green) - and are thus also available on Welte Licensee.

The Welte Licensee scale has the following assignment (from left to right):


Hole 1: Bass mezzoforte from
Hole 2: Bass mezzoforte to
Hole 3: Bass crescendo from
Hole 4: Bass crescendo to
Hole 5: Bass sforzando from
Hole 6: Bass sforzando to
Hole 7: Hammer bar from
Hole 8: Hammer bar to
Hole 9-88 80 tones from C2 to g4
Hole 89: Return
Hole 90: Free (partly off). Switched off)
Hole 91: Forte pedal (right pedal) to
Hole 92: Forte pedal (right pedal) off
Hole 93: Treble sforzando to
Hole 94: Treble sforzando off
