These very large concert grand pianos (Mod FI-24) were also preferred on the concert stages at that time. Ibach concert grand pianos from this period are characterized by an impressively large, full and clear sound. Apart from a new keyboard layout - apparently from around 1940 - this grand piano is largely original. Decades ago, the grand piano was attacked by woodworm, which is no longer active today - however, some parts need to be renewed in the course of the renovation. Ibach has changed the shape of the frame from time to time - in this model, the soundboard has been left free in large parts. The grand piano needs a complete restoration in order to unfold its full potential again. This grand piano was initially used as a loan instrument and was used by the famous pianist and Liszt pupil Emil von Sauer from Dec 1886 to Feb 1887. Emil von Sauer and Rudolf Ibach were close friends, and von Sauer appreciated Ibach's concert grand pianos, so that he used them primarily for concerts in southern Germany, Switzerland, etc.
