Hugo Popper brought the Stella reproduction piano onto the market in 1908 and advertised with his own recording equipment and his own exquisite repertoire. In fact, the Popper Stella system seems to have been sold very rarely - today there are hardly a handful of instruments and very few rolls of music. We are always looking for Popper Stella rolls and documents. Optically there is a great similarity to Welte red rolls. We are currently examining the scale in the course of a restoration project.
