In the late 1925s, M. Welte - like all manufacturers - was struggling to do business in a rapidly shrinking market. In order to escape the reputation built up over the years of only having very expensive instruments for the super-rich, Welte launched the Tormin Welte upright piano. Very few of these are still in existence today. This piano was almost completely renovated by the previous owner. There is still some work to be done to make it playable again.
