This Hupfeld Tri-Phonola Rönisch reproducing piano is in good overall condition. It appears that repair work was carried out several decades ago; however, a comprehensive restoration is required, particularly of the Tri-Phonola reproducing mechanism. At some point in its history, the piano was fitted with high-quality plastic key coverings for the white keys. No ivory certificate is required for this instrument. These compact Tri-Phonola upright pianos represent the pinnacle of German reproducing piano development. They offer a remarkable variety of operating modes while also serving as excellent hand-played pianos of outstanding musical quality. The instrument is capable of playing both standard 88-note piano rolls and the original Tri-Phonola reproducing rolls. The original blower cabinet was unfortunately lost during the course of history. However, it can be reconstructed using original components, as we have successfully done for several similar restoration projects in the past.
