This is the earliest known surviving Welte built-in piano - at least according to the Feurich serial number. The Feurich "Mignon Raste mit voller / grosser Klaviatur" was sent to M. Welte & Söhne in Freiburg on April 30, 1908 at a price of 470 marks. Our second piano of this type with the serial number 21358 arrived at Welte almost two months later, but was given the earlier Welte case number. It is certain that many instruments were in the workshop at the same time and were completed at different speeds. This instrument is original. It has already been dismantled by the previous owner for the purpose of restoration - but not started. After a necessary restoration, the instrument will play and sound splendid again.
