Like several other manufacturers, Ibach built symmetrical grand pianos at the beginning of the 20th century. Symmetrical grand pianos, also often called bell grand pianos, were developed for acoustic, optical and more flexible positioning reasons. However, this is a rare example, as few of these grand pianos by Ibach have survived, and this is a large grand piano.
