Theodor Steinweg war in die USA gewechselt, um den Erfolg von Steinway & Sons auszubauen. Dieser große Konzertflügel Mod I ist überwiegend original erhalten und noch erstaunlich gut spielbar. An den Beinen wurden größere Rollen montiert. Auf diesem Flügelmodell hat Clara Schumann bevorzugt konzertiert. Es ist ein prächtigter Konzertflügel aus dieser Zeit – und mit der dreistelligen Seriennummer einer der frühesten uns bekannten.
