This book was triggered by the discovery of two special Hupfeld music rolls with recordings by Liszt's pupil Arthur Friedheim Liszt Piano Sonata Monographsby Gerard Carter and Martin Adler. Liszt himself is said to have emphasized the performance of his B minor sonata by his pupil Arthur Friedheim as the best. The book goes into detail about these recordings and the piece and allows a better understanding of this Liszt title.
