THE BASIS OF THE LESCHETIZKY METHOD

Malwine Brée, as a pupil and later assistant to one of the greatest pianists and teachers Theodor Leschetizky, despite all his opposition to a theoretical piano school "with the authorization of the master", wrote this book The basis of the Leschetizky method in 1902. It contains essential elements of the so-called "School Leschetizky" with numerous illustrations of the master's hand positions. At the same time it gives interesting insights into the musical conception and performance practice of Theodore Leschetizky. In the section on pedalling there are references to the special features of his style of piano playing. T. Leschetizky has fortunately become very old and his piano playing could even be preserved on film material on the DVD "The Art of Piano". This book is very rarely found in the German edition.
