This Blüthner Aliquot concert grand, Model I, dates from the golden age of piano making. It was most recently in use at the University of Hamburg. The instrument was visually modernized: it was fitted with square legs and a matching lyre. The music desk was replaced with a more robust design, and the white keys were re-covered with a modern synthetic material. These modifications were most likely carried out at Blüthner in Leipzig. While the piano does have some technical issues, it still plays and sounds magnificent. Upon request, we can offer a full restoration, including a return to the original design of the legs, lyre, and music desk. In the case of this instrument, such an investment is unquestionably worthwhile.
