These 88note phonola Vorsetzer from Hupfeld are surprisingly rare. Even though 88note phonolas are generally rare, as the heyday of the Pianola was already coming to an end, even in Germany there are more Aeolian phonolas than Hupfeld phonolas. Perhaps because Aeolian offered the double scale 65/88. This Vorsetzer is in good original condition and has already been partially dismantled for the restoration in the photos. As with every 88 phonola, this prefix is a wonderful instrument after restoration. The dating is vague due to the lack of Hupfeld production data.
