Hier ein Beispiel für die Restauration eines der beliebtesten Welte-Mignon Instrumente – dem Vorsetzer. Heute existieren nur noch sehr wenige dieser Instrumente weltweit. Dieser Vorsetzer war ungewöhnlich gut original erhalten. Lediglich ein Schwungrad fehlte. Alle andere Komponenten mussten nur sorgsam restauriert werden. Dies ist bei Welte-Mignon eine größere Herausforderung, da die Windladen z.B. fest verbunden sind und sauber getrennt und wieder verleimt werden müssen.
After the technical restoration, the surface was also polished with shellac. A beautiful instrument. Today it is in one of the most beautiful private museums for self-playing musical instruments in Japan.
