1928 BÖSENDORFER AMPICO
FLÜGEL RENOVIERUNG

Our speciality are such almost unique reproduction instruments. The combination of the American reproduction system AMPICO in an Austrian grand piano of the Bösendorfer brand is such a unique instrument. To our knowledge Herbert Marshall in London had the exclusive rights to install the Ampico mechanism in European piano brands. Marshall ordered 6 Bösendorfer grand pianos in the 1920's for the installation of an Ampico system. This is one of these pianos.

The Bösendorfer Ampico grand piano was complete and in good original condition with normal signs of aging and use. The Ampico mechanism no longer worked at all - and the acoustic piano had lost its beauty. As part of the renovation work, the body was re-polished in shellac black at the customer's request. A magnificent instrument. Today the grand piano is in a wonderful private museum in the Czech Republic.
