1912 WELTE-MIGNON
VORSETZER RENOVIERUNG

Here is an example of the renovation of one of the most popular Welte-Mignon instruments - the Vorsetzer. Today only very few of these instruments exist worldwide. This Vorsetzer was unusually well preserved. Only one flywheel was missing. All other components only had to be carefully renovated. This is a greater challenge with Welte-Mignon, as the wind chests are firmly connected, for example, and must be cleanly separated and glued again.

After the technical restoration the surface was also polished in shellac. A beautiful instrument. Today it stands in one of the most beautiful private museums for self-playing musical instruments in Japan.
